When winter mornings in Europe take on that special cold-glowing light, the island of Krk shines with festive magic. This year, from 6 to 31 December 2025, history and tradition of the old town center merge with new energy: a walk through the narrow streets becomes like stepping into a Christmas fairy tale.
What to Expect
- The lights will be turned on again — on 6 December at 17:00, DJ Alex Sabattini will open the program with the lighting of decorations. At this moment, the town promenade, historic architecture, and sea breeze transform into festive energy.
- Music will be a constant: on 7 December at 19:00, a Christmas concert will be performed by the local orchestra. Throughout December, performances by bands and vocal groups will follow — FUNBOX, Insula Band, Cambi Band, as well as youth choirs.
- For the youngest and families: shows, children’s workshops, and Christmas stories — from the arrival of Saint Nicholas, creative workshops at the “Santa’s Toy Factory,” to puppet and music events.
- Local huts with gastronomy — wooden Advent houses full of festive food and warm drinks. Perfect for those who want to experience the taste of winter and the sea breeze at the same time.
New in 2025: Active Advent
This year, one of the new additions to the usual festive events is Krk Winter Trails — a program that combines festive atmosphere with outdoor activity.
- 6 December: Cycling event EPIC RIDES Šotovento Winter Special
- 20 December: Local “bike sightseeing tour” — a great opportunity to experience the island differently, with wind in your hair and views of the sea.
- Later in December: thematic walks — culinary and historical, guiding you through corners of Krk where stories, flavors, and traditions intertwine.
Thus, Advent in Krk has become a “winter festival for all senses” — not just lights and concerts, but an active experience of the island and its winter nature.
New Year’s Eve — with culture and joy
The highlight of the festive season will be the evening event on 31 December, from 10:00 a.m. until midnight, with music, celebrations, toasts, concerts, and a special New Year’s Eve program.
Entertainment will be provided by DJ Danko, L’amour Band, and evening concerts by performers who will ensure an energetic and heartfelt transition into the new year.
